Mark Badgley and James Mischka met at Parsons School of Design in 1982, but didn’t start being part of each other’s lives until after they graduated in 1985.

Mark worked for legendary designers Jackie Rogers and Donna Karan; James designed the menswear collections for WilliWear WilliSmith and Yves St. Laurent.  After several years working for other houses, Mark and James joined forces to launch Badgley Mischka in 1988.

Mark and James were married in 2013 in a quiet ceremony at City Hall in New York, with Mark’s twin sister O’Hara as their only witness.  They hosted a dinner for forty friends that evening to celebrate at Raoul’s in Soho – nobody knew they had been married until they saw the giant wedding cake.

Mark and James live in Palm Beach, Florida with their three rescued dachshunds.
